oh hello,
I’m Elena, and I’m so happy you’re here.

I’ve baking since I was 10 years old alongside my mother and my grandmother. When I had my own kids, I loved baking for them. I wasn’t familiar with sourdough then and baked everything with instant yeast. I only learned of sourdough baking with a starter post 2020. My kids have all grown up and I felt like I wanted something to take care of, nurture, and share with others.

Once I dove into sourdough, the information on social media was overwhelming and in many ways made sourdough a lot more complicated and unattainable. Majority of the comments from sourdough beginners were of confusion and wanting to give up. After multiple experiments, books and videos explored, I am sharing the approachable way to sourdough baking. I want sourdough beginners and enthusiasts alike to bake sourdough the simple way and fall in love with how therapeutic and healthy it is vs frustrating over the process.

Bread should be made from the simplest ingredients. Unfortunately, many of the foods we buy today are packed with hard-to-pronounce additives, and food sensitivities are on the rise. Sourdough bread is nutritious, much easier to digest, and has a lower glycemic index than other breads. The fermentation process in sourdough produces beneficial bacteria that is great for your gut health – and, you know the ingredients that go into the bread you’re baking.

Whether you’re just starting, looking to refine your sourdough skills, or thinking of giving up – don’t, I’m here to inspire, educate, and help you bake the best bread possible. Let’s bake great bread together! Here’s to your gut health!
